Asti, proud native land of Vittorio Alfieri, positioned on a high ground from the Tanaro river and the Borbore torrent, were more times destroyed during wars and besiege.

It has conserved in the centuries an illustrious artistic historical patrimony to passed testimony of its glorious one: it walls, medieval towers, buildings, churches and crypts, from the elegant effects chromium plated obtained thanks to us to the alternation of tuff and bricks characteristic of the local architecture.

After we move along the country roads that meander through the Bassa Langa (Lower Langa) from village to village. 'The king of wines, the wine of kings' is produced in eleven towns: Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, Diano d'Alba, Grinzane Cavour, La Morra, Roddi, Serralunga, Monforte, Novello, Verduno and Cherasco. The area boasts a rich variety of landscape where vineyards are extraordinarily tidy. At the end of the tour, you will come across Cherasco, an intriguing town steeped in history and heritage where some of most remarkable Baroque buildings are to be found.

Day 5 explore Roero, the most famous place on the world for high quality wine.

This diverse area features both rounded hills shrouded in vineyards and rugged hills covered with woods and hazel groves. Visit the fascinating 18th century manor and the Museum of Ancient Arts and Traditions in Magliano Alfieri. The elegant manor in Govone built to the project by the well-known architect Juvarra is also well worth the trip. Marvel at the stunning Baroque country mansion in Guarene. Canale, that is famous all over Europe for its delicious peaches, hosts the Regional Enoteca of the Roero.

Day 6 explore the high Langa.

In the Alta Langa hills are ragged and higher, the weather is colder and the landscape is strewn with green pastures, woods of pine and chestnut, and large hazel groves. Cortemilia, which features the impressive Romanic Saint Mary's Pieve, is the main town as far as the production of hazelnuts (the local cultivation being the 'Tonda Gentile', that is round and delicate) goes. Visit Borgomale, with its vaguely sinister castle was the site of frightful legends, and Prunetto, which boasts a recently restored castle and a beautiful medieval church.
